Terms and Conditions of Electrical Contracting Services

1. Definitions
  • "Company" refers to Scope Electrical Ltd, its employees, and subcontractors.
  • "Client" refers to the person or business requesting electrical services.
  • "Services" refers to all electrical contracting work provided by the Company.
2. Scope of Work
  • A written quotation will be provided for all work prior to commencement.
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  • Any variations or additions to the original quotation must be agreed upon in writing and may incur additional charges.
3. Pricing and Payment
  • Prices are quoted excluding VAT unless otherwise stated.
  • A deposit may be required prior to commencement of works.
  • Payment terms are strictly 30 days from the date of invoice.
  • Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4. Cancellation and Delays
  • The Client may cancel work prior to commencement with at least 48 hours' notice.
  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee to cover losses.
  • The Company shall not be held responsible for delays due to weather, supply chain disruptions, or third-party issues outside its control.
5. Access and Site Conditions
  • The Client shall ensure the site is accessible and safe for the duration of the works.
  • The Company reserves the right to refuse or suspend work where health and safety regulations cannot be met.
  • Any parking charges or access fees required to carry out the works will be added to the final invoice unless otherwise agreed.
6. Warranties and Liability
  • All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion date unless otherwise specified.
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to all supplied products and materials.
  • The Company accepts no liability for pre-existing faults or damage caused by third parties.
  • Liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
7. Regulatory Compliance
  • All work will be carried out in accordance with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671), Part P of the Building Regulations, and other applicable laws.
  • Certification will be provided for notifiable work upon completion.
8. Ownership of Materials
  • Materials supplied remain the property of the Company until full payment is received.
  • The Company reserves the right to recover materials or equipment if payment is not made.
9. Dispute Resolution
  • The Company will aim to resolve any disputes amicably and promptly.
  • Unresolved disputes may be referred to an independent mediator or to the relevant trade association (e.g., NICEIC, NAPIT, etc.).
  • These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
10. Data Protection
  • Client details will be stored securely and used solely for the purposes of providing and maintaining services.
  • Data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where legally required.
11. Force Majeure
  • The Company shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
