A disused aircraft hangar in the Midlands was chosen to convert into the car research centre. The project needed a complete transformation. Switching from an empty shell to a fully operational facility with integrated tech. However, the site was far from reality with outdated infrastructure, no structured power supply and zero capacity to support advanced testing and automation equipment.
The biggest hurdle was creating a facility which is power-secured with a compliant environment that could handle high-performance equipment, research and development tech systems and allow for future scalability. They needed an electrical solution that could keep up with constant innovation and that’s where Scope Electrical came into the picture.
From the initial discussion, our team understood that this wasn’t a one-off task. So, we approached the project in three phases:
We believe perfection begins with understanding. Our team mapped every element of the site, from utility access to equipment locations, before laying the groundwork. Coordination with the client’s facility team allowed us to schedule power-ups and testing in sync with other trades, reducing downtime and confusion. Smart systems were integrated where possible to futureproof the setup and reduce ongoing energy costs.
